The Goju-Ryu Precept
As supple as a willow, as solid as Mount Tai. It is when the two extremes of hard and soft are wholly united as one body, that unshakable form of the harmony of heaven and earth will evolve. We find this harmony of hard and soft within the order of nature and the oneness of the universe. Through the way of Goju-Ryu Karate-Do we will be able to express the harmony of nature within ourselves.
MEET HARDNESS WITH SOFTNESS AND SOFTNESS WITH HARDNESS
Solent Goju-Ryu has been based in Southampton & Romsey for many years. A thriving martial arts club with members of all ages, it is a defensive style & its roots can be traced to the mid 1800's.
This club is run by Sensei Kurt Buxey with assistance from 4 other instructors.
Yudansha Dave Andrews, Sue Snow, Graham Walker and Mark Smith.
The style is suitable for all ages and abilities, whether to be learned as a true martial art, or purely for exercise or self defence.
At Solent GoJu Ryu we pride ourselves on our flexible training methods. Sensei Kurt Buxey works all members very hard, but keeps it to the individuals capability. Most people have a job to go to the next day and its nice to go free of sprains or strains.
In the 21st century, the average working person or student has very limited time to dedicate to a hobby, so obviously the more you train during the week the more you will benefit.
Please remember though, when training, no less than 100% effort is expected.
